Welcome to the Dryden Literacy Page! I'm Colleen Foster, one of the literacy teachers at Dryden Elementary School. I grew up in the Chicagoland area and attended Purdue University where I received my Bachelors Degree in elementary education with a minor in reading. After graduation, I began my first teaching job as a kindergarten teacher in Lake Zuirch, District 95. I also earned my Masters Degree from National Louis University in Reading and am a certified reading specialist. I was a classroom teacher for four years before I decided to take a break to stay home with my three daughters.
My husband John, daughters Ava, Emmy and Olivia and I live in Mt. Prospect. In my free time I love spending time with my family, trying new recipes, going on bike rides and keeping up with my girls' activities. I also LOVE to read! I enjoy reading new Young Adult novels with my daughters and some of our favorite authors are Kate DiCamillo and Lois Lowry.
